Dr. Giulia Kassab is a post-doctoral researcher at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, part of the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada. She obtained her PhD degree in Biomolecular Physics from the University of Sao Paulo in 2022, and has dedicated her career to the fields of antimicrobial therapies, biophotonics, and drug delivery.

 

Dr. Kassab’s research explores the potential of photodynamic therapy as a treatment for infections, aiming for a selective, localized delivery of photosensitizers that achieves successful treatment with minimal side effects. Her main focus has been on treating bacterial pneumonia, but she has also researched treatments for other infections and cancer.

 

She has co-authored multiple publications on the subject, and her research has been cited over 200 times.
